Frequently Asked Questions

Please read these frequently asked questions carefully before proceeding to other support methods and venues.

When is the next release?

When it is done.

How do I install on Linux?

Extract the linux tarball to a user writable location or chmod 777 the desired location in order for the internal updater to be able to write to the "install location" when updating. Other than that it doesn't particularly matter where it is on the system. Though, one should not be relocating it on a regular basis.

NOTE: This is not a portable install! The application data such as the profile will be stored in the current user's home directory.

Will there be a portable version?

No, not at this time.

Why is the allow button greyed out when I try to authorize Interlink (as Thunderbird) for GMail with OAuth2 authentication?

Google seems to be constantly messing with their OAuth2 implementation on a fairly regular basis in order to limit your freedom of choice when it comes to e-mail clients. It has been observed that if you let it sit for an arbitrary period of time the allow and deny buttons on the OAuth2 window will enable them selves and you will be able to complete the authorization.

Remember that we and you are at the mercy of what Google and their servers will allow us to do. Consider enabling "less secure apps" in your GMail settings so you can use standard authentication instead of the inappropriate web authentication for e-mail.

Why have all my folders disappered when using a GMail account with OAuth2 authentication?

Google seems to be constantly messing with their OAuth2 implementation on a fairly regular basis which causes a desync with the IMAP server due to failed authentication. Don't worry, your e-mails are not gone as IMAP keeps everything on the server.

To resolve this you will have to delete the account in Account Settings and set it up again. Consider enabling "less secure apps" in your GMail settings so you can use standard authentication instead of the inappropriate web authentication for e-mail.

Does Interlink support Lightning (Calendar extension)?

Yes, by popular demand it does as of Version 52.9.7025 the Calendar extension is bundled with Interlink. Due note that support for the extension is on a "best effort" basis and may rely on community contribution to remain largely functional. That being said, we will try to keep it as such.

What do I do if I get the following error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000001d). Click OK to close the application."?

Previous versions for 64 bit Windows build required you to have the AVX instruction set. If you are getting this error, then it means you don't and would have to use the 32bit build. However, recent versions now target the SSE2 instruction set across the board so you should update to the latest release.

What do I do if I get the following error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."?

Windows 10 users getting this error while trying to use the 64 bit build should instead try the 32bit build if this is encountered. The exact cause of this is currently unknown but it may have something to do with hardware or drivers and their interaction with Hardware Acceleration or may indicate system file corruption or glitches in physical hardware. IF you encounter this on Windows 7 or 8.x or the 32 bit build also fails, then please let us know.

I have seen something very similar built and released for Windows XP, is that Interlink?

No BinOC Project targets XP. What you have there is something released by a third party based on modified code that is not representive of this project.
We ask you to not come to us with support questions or comments for or about third party builds.

My question/issue isn't listed here. Where can I ask/report it?
